The Wellspring Ministry Mission:

Class 1 Welcome Meet / greet chat about what we’ll be doing, go over the syllabus, answer questions, and talk about the desires of our heart. We’ll talk about what you can expect, what you hope for, and what the foundation of this class is all about.  We’ll check in with how people are managing the new norm and some quick tips to begin to thrive in the midst of the crisis. Romans 12:2

Class 2. Managing Fear and Anxiety with the Unknowns

We’ll discuss your magnificent brain and what parts are working overtime when you are feeling anxious and fearful. Learn tips and techniques to calm that part of your brain and tools for mindfulness and the art of being fully present so that you can give your energy and focus to the people and matters currently at hand.  We’ll practice inviting God into our fears and feelings so we can know we are not in it alone.  Proverbs 12:25, 1 Peter 5:7, Phil 4:6-7

Class 3 Trusting God for all of our Needs

We’ll discuss how we typically managed our lives pre Covid-19, and how easily we get deceived that we are in control.  We will consider what our real needs are physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and financially and begin to reorder our loves by returning to what and who really matters. We will come to view this time as an opportunity to increase our faith and live with more trust toward our Father who cares for us.Matthew 11:28-30, Proverbs 3:5-6, Matthew 6:25-34

Class 4 The neuroscience of Choosing your Thoughts

We will compare and contrast your thinking brain vs. your emotional brain. We’ll discuss the physiological effects your thinking has on your stress hormones, your immune system, and how thoughts affect your relationships as well.  We’ll offer tips to become more aware of your thoughts and how to shift them into thoughts that will bring less stress and more joy to your days. Phil 4:8, 2 Corinthians 10:5, Proverbs 23:7

Class 5 Increasing your Emotional Toolbox

We will learn about familial and societal messaging that has kept us from experiencing a wide range of emotions.  We will learn to appreciate God’s beautiful emotional design for both men and women and learn awareness and identification of feelings. We’ll explore healthy ways to experience and express emotion. We will cover unhealthy behaviors we do to avoid emotion and cope with the emotions we don’t want to face, and discover God’s greater plan for our emotional/ relational lives. Galatians 5:22-23, James 1:19-20, Proverbs 16:32

Class 6 Enhancing Your Relationships in Trying Times

Now that you know more about you, have learned how you were magnificently made, have better coping skills and emotional control, you can apply all that and more to your relationships.  Learn communication tools that will enhance your primary relationships with your partner, spouse, kids, friends, family and coworkers.  This is a time to focus on connecting, building or rebuilding trust and trustworthiness and learning to thrive in the relationships that are important to us.  Romans 12:15-18 Proverbs 17:17 Ephesians 4:2-3

 

Class 7 Building Resilience -Coping with Change in a Rapidly Changing World

Realizing that change seems to be the only constant, learn what you can do to thrive - not just survive during turbulent times. We’ll discuss how Christ is our one true constant, and how crucial it is to build time into our lives for enhancing our spiritual relationship. We’ll discuss how to build brain reserves to help us get through the tough times, review how our thoughts matter, and discuss some mindfulness and calming strategies as well.  Romans 12:12, James 1:2-4
