Welcoming Will and Andrea Hoffman to PBF in February
I was born in Hawaii and moved to the central California coast when I was 5. I was a “spunky” child and got to know the school’s office staff with my weekly “visits”.
In junior high I dreamed of being a pilot and attending the naval academy so enrolled in a Naval Academy Prep School in Harlingen, Texas. I learned and grew a lot at the Marine Military Academy in those four years.
I switched gears in college and attended Biola University to study missions. Further education at Talbot and the University of Texas, Arlington prepared me for five years in Tanzania with Wycliffe Bible Translators. We did a lot of medical and community development work with the Hadza; a hunter gatherer tribe who speak a click language.
In 2000 we returned to the states with our daughter and had three more children. I spent 4 years at a large church in north Idaho and then was the senior pastor at a church plant there as well.
In 2017 we moved to Texas to be near my late wife’s family. She had some health issues and wanted to be near her family. I went to work at a church as a supervising pastor over youth, college and young adults.
After a bout with cancer my late wife passed. I thought my role as a husband had come to an end but God had other plans.
I met Andrea, retired school teacher after 28 years, and we fell in love. Andrea grew up with parents who taught and ministered to 400 boys at a “ranch” called Boys Ranch for boys whose parents were not able to raise them. I was captivated by Andrea’s heart for ministry and loving people. Andrea and I were married in January of 2023 and are a blended family with 5 grown children. Andrea and I have led the youth/young adult team the last year and enjoyed that ministry immensely.
As a family we enjoy snowboarding/skiing, mountain biking and exploring the outdoors. It has been exciting to see our roles shifting from full time parents to parents of grown children.
We are excited for the next chapter of ministry that God has invited us to at PBF. We look forward to meeting folks in the PBF church family and participating in all that God is doing there.
